Revlon 3 Barrel Jumbo Waver Review

So I finally got around to trying out the waver that I got. I got it from Ulta for $25.

It's a 3 barrel version and one of the larger ones as I didn't want tiny crimp waves.

The heat setting is from 1-30.

It is supposed to give a beachy kind of wave look to your hair. This is what it looked like in my hair (with no product or smoothing serum):

I didn't really like the way it turned out, but I kind of suck with hair stuff so I am going to give it a try a few more times before I throw in the towel.

Pros:
*The waves are kind of pretty when you get them just right.
*I think it would probably look better on people who have thinner hair- I have SUPER thick hair so I think it tends to make my hair look really big.

Cons:
*It's difficult to use- I kept getting burnt and it was very difficult to use in the back of my head.
*You have to get the waves lined up just right or they look funny.
*The waves tend to fall out quickly- that could just be my hair though...

In other news, I am super excited to have reached 92 followers! When I reach 100, I will be hosting a giveaway!

I also linked up today with Megan from Greetings from Texas! Check her out if you get a chance!

November Eco-Emi Box

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I've been trying to edit my blog some, so if it looks funny at all that's why! As Google is shutting down GFC for all non Blogger blogs, I working on adding other ways to follow me.

I'm kind of obsessed with the monthly sample boxes. Recently I found one called Eco-Emi that sends out different green products. I am very conscious about what I eat, but have not been so picky about beauty products unfortunately. This is an excellent way to be exposed to more green products and try them out before investing in them.

When I first saw my box this month I was super excited!

I was most excited to try out the clay mask by Blissoma:

It has a pleasant smell, but overall I was not horribly impressed with it. It tingled while it was on and I thought it would be great, but it left my skin with a weird texture after I washed it off.

I was also really excited for the shampoo, but I was not overly impressed with it either. It didn't really suds up much in my hair and I had to use more of it than my normal shampoo to get it to work at all.

The hand creme was nice and moisturizing on my hands, but I did not really like the smell at all.

This was something else I was excited to try out and I did like it. I am using it as a highlight as it doesn't really have much discernible color to it; just shimmer. I do wish that they would have sent a color instead so that I could see if they are pigmented well, but I do want to try out more from this brand.

I really love this and definitely want to check out the brand's non-toxic nail polishes too! The lip balm has a minty smell and does tingle a bit, but keeps my lips soft with a hint of a shimmer.

I normally don't use a lot of mist type things, but I really love the smell of this one- it's like a really light vanilla with a hint of citrus.

This was a decent dark chocolate- It was a little bitter but still pretty good!

I'm not really into buttons, but it's cute if you like that kind of thing I guess. I'm just going to give it to my sister as I'm just not into them.

Overall, I was a little disappointed with the way some of the items worked out, but I did find a few products that I really like and love testing out green products.

Possible Tropical Party Look

The bank that I work for is hosting a Christmas party next week with a tropical theme. Definitely an odd combination in my mind! I'm not completely sure what my whole look is going to be but I was thinking of doing my eye makeup similar to this:

I know it's not the best pic- I'm trying to learn my camera, but I think I'm camera illiterate! I was thinking something colorful with pink and green. What do you guys think???

Nicole by OPI Hard-Kourt Fashionista

After the whole Kim Kardashian 72 day wedding ordeal, I had wholly planned on boycotting anything that they put out. However, they recently released a nail polish collection with Nicole by OPI and caught me at a weak moment when I was grocery shopping at Wal-Mart!

I got two polishes- Disco Dolls and Hard-Kourt Fashionista. I haven't had a chance to try out Disco Dolls yet, but I think it's gonna be my favorite!

I tried the other one, Hard-Kourt Fashionista today and like it as a nice fall color. It is kind of a dark, almost black burgundy-purple color:

All of the nail blogs that I've been looking at lately have gotten me to want to improve on my nail skills, so I ordered a Konad stamping kit today and am looking forward to trying it out. If anyone has any good tips for using it, I would love to hear them as I have NEVER tried anything like that!

Sephora Rouge in The Red

I know it's been awhile since I've posted anything and I haven't meant to be away for so long, but it's been a trying week! I've just been so bogged down by school and work and just felt depressed in general that it has been hard to get anything done. But now I'm back after doing some retail therapy last nite/ this morning!

Awhile back, I got the Sephora Favorites Bestseller's and it had Sephora Rouge in The Red in it.

I didn't intend on doing a review on it, but I was so impressed when I wore it out the other night that I had to! (I don't know why it looks pinkish in this pic, but it's actually an orange-ish red!)

This is how the color looks on the lips:

I was concerned all night that it was going to fade off, but this is how it looks after a night out eating and drinking, 9 hours of sleep, breakfast and chasing 2 dogs down a 4 block area! (Don't mind my crazy makeup-less face!)

I got home late and was too tired to wash off my face and this is how it looked the next morning! Lipsticks never last very long on my lips even with primers, so needless to say I was super impressed with the staying power of this one! Plus it went on creamy and wasn't too drying on my lips like a lot of lipsticks are.

Remington Wet 2 Straight Review

I don't know why, but I am extremely lazy with my hair! It is both extremely thick and pretty dry because I regualrly bleach it, so normally blow drying is out of the option. My cousin introduced me to the world of the wet hair flatirons.

I got the Remington Wet 2 Straight flatiron from Ulta on sale for $25. It can heat up to 400 degrees Farenheit and promises to vaporize excess water while locking in moisture.

Here's how my damp, unruly hair looks before:

And here's how my hair looks after:

Overall, I really like the Wet 2 Straight. It did a good job straightening my hair while it was still wet and didn't fry it. Most of my hair was actually a lot shinier than normal! The one downside I found was that it did exacerbate my dead ends more than my normal flatiron, but they need to be trimmed off soon anyway...

MAC 187 Brush

One of my MANY obsessions is makeup brushes. Somehow out of my many brushes I haven't gotten any MAC brushes so I am starting to get a few one by one. My first one is the MAC 187:

The MAC website describes it as: A large full circular brush used for lightweight application and blending of face powder or pigments. Use to create soft layers or add textures. Made from a soft blend of goat and synthetic fibres.

I really love my other brushes, but I have to say that this is the softest thing that has ever touched my face!

Pro's:
-So far there has been minimal shedding after several washes.
-I LOVE the feel on my skin!
-I've been using it for my mineral foundation and it provides a good lighter coverage.

Con's:
-I don't love it with liquid foundation. I prefer typical foundation brushes like the MAC 190, but I haven't experimented a lot with it and liquid foundation so I might like it better after some playing with it.
-Price: This is one of the pricier brushes at $42.

Overall, I've found it to be a great brush for a lighter powder application.

NOTD- OPI Muppette's Collection: Excuse Moi

A while back, I got the mini OPI Muppette's Collection to try out:

I got it for $12 from Ulta, so gave me a good way to try out several of the colors for cheap!

So far, Excuse Moi is the only one that I've had a chance to try out, but I love it and am definitely going to get the full size!

The color is a gorgeous light pink with mostly silver glitter, and a few pieces of iridescent glitter that turn green and purple. It's super sheer though, so I put 3 coats on to get this look.

I also got a few new toys to try out :)

Too Faced Sweet Dreams palette Review

Recently, Too Faced put out several Christmas collections all of which I am dying for! I got one of them- the Sweet Dreams palette. It contains 15 eyeshadows, 2 blushes, 1 highlighter, 1 bronzer and a tube of Shadow Insurance and costs $52 at Sephora.

From left to right, these are Chocolate Soleil, Cocoa Rose, Sweet Pink and Candlelight Glow. Candlelight Glow is basically completely sheer and just a shimmer.

From left to right: In the Buff, Peach Fuzz, Copper Peony, Teddy Bear and Lovey Dovey- In the Buff and Peach Fuzz are both completely sheer and are good as highlighters (you can't really see them at all on my hand)

From left to right: Satin Sheets, Cut the Cake, Party Girl, Nice Ash and Smolder. Satin sheets is sheer while Smolder and Nice Ash are greyish tones- I'm still figuring out my camera, so please be patient with me!

From left to right: Honeymoon, Label Whore, Nice Stems, Cop a Teal and First Dance. Label Whore is actually a gorgeous iridescent and pulls green and purple!

Overall, I love this collection and LOVE Too Faced as a whole!
