FOTD: Green with Envy!

I decided it would be fun to do a green eye, with purple around the outer corner:

I used Urban Decay Primer Potion as a base with Gravity (the green shade) and Bender (purple shade) from Urban Decay's Book of Shadows 4

There is nothing like seeing a close up of my brows to make me realize that I need to get them waxed badly! And I am working on getting a better camera as my picture quality is not great. If anyone has any suggestions on great cameras, I would LOVE to hear them!

OPI Warm and Fozzy/ Konad Leopard Print Manicure

I've been loving my OPI Muppettes collection and my Konad!

I used Warm and Fozzy as the main color on all of the nails and NYC nail polish in Black for the leopard print. I am working on getting some of the thicker polish for stamping as the NYC didn't show up very well on the patterned nails.

Christmas Eco Emi Box Review

I've been gone for the past week up north, snowmobiling and doing other fun snow stuff, but I will be getting back to posting regularly now....

My December Eco Emi box actually came the day before Christmas Eve, so it was kind of like an early Christmas present!

This box had SOOOO much in it too!

*Patterned Footies by Maggie's Functional Organics, $6.00

*Vitamin C with zinc chews by Genesis Today, 30 chews $11.99
These taste like little candies and are sooooo good! There is 200% of the daily value for vitamin C in each one however so I will probably only have one or two a week as that is a lot more than you really need.

*Whispering Pine Candle by Wyk Candles, 4 oz $8.99
This was a nice candle and had a bit of a spicy smell. It was really small though and you can't burn it for very long because the melted wax puts the flame out pretty quickly.

*Tangerine lip balm by Zambeezi, $2.95 per tube
I love getting lip balm in these boxes as I go through them extremely quickly! I especially LOVE this one though! It feels really nice on my lips and has a great citrus scent.

*Botanical Lip Gloss by Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques, 2 mL tube $8.00
This is a pretty fall-ish shade. The one thing that I don't like though is the type of tube that it comes in.

*Organic Raw Cacao Bliss by Artisana, $12.98 8 oz
I'm not a huge fan of this. It has kind of a crumbly texture and is just kind of like a paste that you eat.

*Greenshield Organic Free and Clear Laundry Detergent by Greenology Products, $13.76 for 64 loads

*Organic Candy Canes by The Natural Candy Store, 1/2 lb $5.99

*Jojoba and Ginseng exfoliating face cleanser and Blood Orange and Vanilla body wash by John Masters Organics, $28 for 4 oz (cleanser) and $18 for 8 oz (body wash)

My first Influenster Voxbox!

I was excited to receive my first Influenster Voxbox last week! This is what it contained:

Voxbox is kind of like the other monthly box programs, giving you a card with everything that's in the box and an explanation of each product, but it's free and they just want you to try out the products and give feedback on them. You can check out their program here if you want more details on it.

Softsoap Cocunut Scrub Bar Soap- I put this in the shower to use and my husband actually beat me to the punch! It's a nice soap and smells great- I typically use shower gel so bar soap is a little different for me!

Larabar- These are little bars made with only 2-9 natural ingredients. I absolutely LOVED mine! It was cookie dough flavored and I am a bit of a cookie dough junkie, so it was perfect for me and I am planning on getting some more!

Montagne Jeunesse face mask- I have not had a chance to try out the mask yet, but will review it when I do.

Mentos Pure Fresh Gum- I really like these! Being wintertime, they are great for opening the nasal passages and giving me fresh breath!

imPress Press on Manicure by Broadway Nails- I haven't tried these out yet either...

X Out Wash-in Treatment- This is a facial cleanser that is made by the makers of Proactiv that is supposed to be a one-step acne fighting system. So far I really like this. It has exfoliating crystals in it and can be used as a face wash or left on the face for 10 minutes as a spot treatment.

Overall, I was really excited for my first box and like most of the products. The one thing that I wasn't excited about was the nails as I don't typically like press-ons, but maybe I'll find a time for them later on...

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Review

I was pleasantly surprised on Black Friday to FINALLY find the Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Houndstooth at Wal-Mart! I had been looking for a few months to try them out, but everytime I looked they only had the ugly ones left!

The instructions are fairly simple and straightforward:

In reality, it's a bit more difficult than they make it out to be (isn't it always though?!) I had a really hard time getting the backing off without messing the strip up. I found that you just kind of have to play with it to get it to come off.

Placement was a little difficult too- I had to peel it off once or twice to get it in the best position. I was a little concerned that the adhesive would be not as good, but it has stayed on fine. Just to give it a little more shine and stay power, I put a coat of Julep Topcoat on it.

This is how the end result looked though:

Overall, I was pleased with them and will definitely try another design. It was not extremely difficult and as I am not very good with doing designs, it definitely is much better than anything I could do myself!

I took them off 8 days later, but they could have lasted much longer. There were minimal chips, but they held up much better than regular nail polish. To get them off, I soaked my nails in polish remover for a minute and scrubbed them off.

Holiday NOTD Using my new Konad!

As it is nearing Christmas, I thought it would be fun to do something a little festive for my NOTD:

This was my first try with my new Konad stamper! I used Sephora by OPI Charge It! for the pattern on my middle fingers.

I also used the glitter I got with my December Julep Box on my thumbs

For the base color, I used Wocka Wocka by OPI's  Muppet Collection

It's kind of sloppy because I was in a hurry, and the color is much more of a deep red than the pictures show :{

Overall, I like the Konad. It takes some getting used to and practice, but seems like it will be a lot of fun in the future!

Tropical Island Party Look

This year, my job hosted a tropical themed Christmas party. I of course wanted to do a bold tropical eye look:

I used one of my BH Cosmetics palette's in orange, pink and purple with Urban Decay's Primer Potion and a NYX white eye pencil as base.

And of course my hair refused to do ANYTHING productive or half way decent!
