Drew Barrymore Covergirl Look

I've seen this ad in magazines for a while and have been itching to try something similar. I'm not really a huge fan of Drew Barrymore, but I think she looks completely gorgeous here!

For this look I used-

Face:
*Hard Candy Nobody's Perfect Concealer Palette
*Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer
*Covergirl Foundation in Ivory 205
*Mary Kay Mineral Powder in Ivory .5
*Philosophy Hope in a Jar Moisturizer- I'm actually pretty tan and had to lighten my skin color for this look. The foundation and powders made my skin look flat, so the moisturizer helped to re-luminize me!
*Benefit Dandelion Blush for under the cheekbone
* Hard Candy Blush in Pin-Up for the highlight

Eyes:
*Urban Decay Primer Potion
*Urban Decay Sin for the browbone highlight
*Urban Decay Crystal eyeshadow
*Clinique Cream Liner in True Black 02
*Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash

Lips:
*Sephora Lipstick in Maniac
*MAC Vivaglam Gaga 2 Lipgloss
*MAC Lustreglass in Ensign

Hope you enjoy!

Theatre of the Nameless

The first time I saw an Illamasqua campaign, I instantly fell in love with them. They are crazy and over the top, but still manage to look amazing! This is one of the looks from their newest campaign Theatre of the Nameless, that inspired me the most:

 I wanted to do something that was loosely based on the picture, but not quite as crazy. (Disclaimer: This look is for fun; I would not wear it out!!!!)

For the face, I used:
-Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
-CoverGirl Foundation in Ivory 205
-Mary Kay Mineral Foundation in Ivory .5
-Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer
-Stila Blush in Art Deco under the cheekbones
-Too Faced Pink Cheeks as highlight

Eyes:
-Urban Decay Primer Potion
-Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Sin
-Clinique Cream Liner in True Black
-Sephora Lashes
-Tarte Gifted Mascara

Eyebrows:
-ELF Brow Gel
-Mally Eyeliner in black to draw brows

Lips:
-OCC Lip Tar in Pageant
-Mally Eyeliner in black to trace around lips

It's kind of a shame that as much as I LOVE Illamasqua campaigns, I have never actually used their products!!! But I plan on trying them out soon. Hope you enjoy the look!

Yay Urban Decay!!! Book of Shadows IV Edition

I have always been a big fan of Urban Decay. Their eyeshadows are extremely pigmented and come in such a wide variety of colors. Not to mention anytime I wear eyeshadow, I am wearing their Primer Potion. So needless to say, I HAD to try out one of their latest releases Book of Shadows IV and I was not let down!
Book of Shadows IV comes with:
* 16 shades of Eyeshadow
* A full size Perversion 24/7 Liquid Eyeliner
* .18 oz Supercurl Mascara
* .13 oz Primer Potion
* A small speaker with cord that you can connect to your phone
* A scan-able card for tutorial videos
* And lastly, ADORABLE packaging!

It costs $64.00 from Urban Decay, which I thought was reasonable considering that you get 16 eyeshadows and the mascara, primer and eyeliner in it.

There is even a pocket to hold your cell phone beside the mirror!

Since I tend to use a lot of neutrals day to day (I can't do anything that crazy for work!) I thought that there was a good mix of neutrals and colors, unlike some of their palettes that just have a lot of color that I probably couldn't wear as often.

This is the little speaker box on the left. I've tried it a few times and it's pretty cool. I haven't looked at the tutorials yet as I am slightly smartphone challenged and don't know what to do!

From left to right, these are Crystal, Gunmetal (which is grey, I don't know why it pulled greenish), Blue Bus and Gravity.

These are Bender, Cobra, Hijack and Lost. These 8 were more of the colors in the palette. The rest are more of brown neutrals and shades that I would use as highlights.

Here are two simple eyes I did using a few of my favorite shades:

I used Sin as a highlight with Crystal on the lid and Blue Bus in the crease. (I think Crystal is probably one of my favorite shades!)

Here I used Midnight Cowgirl as the highlight with Midnight Rodeo on the lid and Lost in the crease.

Overall I really like this palette and would have to give it 4 stars. 10 of the 16 colors are new and I like most of them, and I think you get a lot for your money. My one complaint would be that the box is too large for what is in it and I do not have a lot of space for my cosmetics as it is! Also I am NOT a fan of their mascara, so they definitely could have left that out!

Feeling the Fabulous 50's!

Today when I put my outfit together, I realized that it was reminiscent of the 50's (a cardigan and pencil skirt) and how perfect would it be to create a makeup look to match??? So without further ado, here is my simple 50's look!!

For some reason, the lips showed up as orange red when they were actually more of a rich plum....

And I don't know why, but every straight on photo makes it look like I have a horse face so there are rarely any pictures where I don't have my head tilted to one side!!

Anyway, on the face I just used a slightly lighter color than normal (Mary Kay mineral powder in Ivory I) to lighten me up a tad, sculpted my cheekbones with Body Shop bronzer in 05 and then used Benefit in dandelion for blush with Hard Candy Honeymoon on top for a highlight.

For my eyes I used Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV pallette which is one of my new obsessions! (Review coming in the future...) I used Sin to highlight my browbone and on the inside corner of my eye; Midnight Rodeo all over the lid and Lost in the crease. I like to keep it simple for work, but a cat eye would have finished the look perfectly!

For my lips, I used my new FAVORITE lip liner from my NewBeauty TestTube, YBF Posing Plum all over the lips as a base with Mary Kay Beach Bronze lipgloss.

Classic looks and 50's looks are some of my favorite things to do! They are so timeless and will never go out of style!
