Too Faced On The Prowl Set

For my work Christmas party, I got a Sephora gift card. I've been somewhat obsessed with the brand Too Faced lately and decided to check out their On the Prowl set.

 It comes with Primed and Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer, Leopard Love Complexion Perfection Kit, Lip of Luxury Lipstick in Cougar and the Flatbuki brush and retails for $26 from Sephora.

                       Their palettes always have a tendency to sucker me in with how cute they are!

Overall, it's a nice palette for a good deal. On the skin (my skin at least!) it's more pigmented than it looks like it would be!

I've been ordering through them instead of going to the store so that I can get the cash back as well as the online sample codes! So from a gift card that I got for free, I ended up getting product and adding $1.50 to my ebates account!

January Birchbox

After a few crappy boxes, I was REALLY excited when I got this months Birchbox! The theme was Clarity.

 I got:

*VMV Hypoallergenics RE-Everything: Face-Hand-Body Lotion- This retails for $45 and is a lotion that can be used all over.

*Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash- Retails for $19.50 and is supposed to be good for combination skin

*Stila Smudge Stick  Waterproof Eye Liner- They sent the full size which retails for $20!

 *LaraBar Minibar- I got one of these in an Eco-Emi box and they are AMAZING! I LOVE the cookie dough and it is made with only dried fruits, nuts and wholesome natural ingredients!

*Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy- This retails for $69-$89. I love this scent and actually just ran out of my bottle so this was perfect timing!

NOTD- Zoya Holly

I FINALLY got around to trying my Zoya Holly polish that I got in my Birchbox a few months ago and love the color!

I used the Julep Peacock nail appliques that I got in my Julep Mystery box as an accent nail.

Unfortunately, the Zoya polish looks very turquoise from the bottle so I thought the color and the appliques would go together perfectly and in reality they end up madly clashing!

Kushyfoot Flats-To-Go

A few weeks ago, I was sent a pair of tights and flats from the brand Kushyfoot to review:

They retail for $8.99 and are supposed to massage the bottoms of your foot with a zig-zagged bottom.

 Overall, I thought that they did not massage the bottom of my foot and the zig zag texture was ind of annoying. However, I do think that the quality of the tights is much better than my normal tights which rip after 3 or 4 wears!

 What I really loved was the Flats to Go! These retail at $9.99 each and also have a wavy zig-zag sole similar to the tights.

 I actually REALLY loved these! I take them to work with me (I work in a bank setting where I stand all day in heels and am limping by the end of the day!) and these babys come on about 2 hours before the end of my shift! The one negative that I found however was that the elastic in the backs can rub against the back of your foot, but other than that they are a MAJOR relief from my heels!

My Interpretation of the Pin-up Look!

I recently got Lime Crime's Styletto lipstick which is a gorgeous black color! I knew from the second I tried it on that it would make a fabulous pin-up look!

I used:

Lips- LimeCrime Styletto Lip Creme

Face- Dinair Alabaster airbrush foundation and MUFE HD powder

Blush- Sephora Blush Me! in Peche Tendre no4 and Hard Candy Baked Blush in Pin Up

Mole- Maybelline Gel Eyeliner in Brown

Eyes- Urban Decay Primer Potion, Too Faced Pillow Talk and Like a Virgin, Clinique Gel Eyeliner in True Black and Benefit They're Real mascara

Valentine's Day Beauty Blogger Swap!

Lipgloss Love Affair is hosting a Valentine's Day swap for Beauty Bloggers! I love the idea so of course I signed up for it! You have the option of spending $20, $50 or $100 so you can fit it into your budget and you must sign up by January 25th.

Born Pretty Store Haul

After seeing so much about the Born Pretty Store, I decided to check it out. Boy am I glad that I did!

I got:
*A nail stamper and scraper for $2.78
*Set of 5 stamping polishes for $6.19

 *16 piece nail stamping plates for $16.98

I bought some similar Konad plates off of eBay and they were over $5.00 per plate so this was a fantastic deal and I can't wait to try them out!

My Favorite Brushes- MAC 109

So the incredibly fun life drainer called Anatomy and Physiology has once again started and I have not had quite as much time to post and look at blogs lately :-x  But I will try my best! Also I AM working on putting reviews together on my Dinair (It's really hard as there are so MANY different things you can do with it!) and other Christmas presents!

Anyway... I recently bought a few brushes from MAC and I have to say I am EXTREMELY IMPRESSED with the 109.

The MAC 109 Small Contour Brush retails for $34 and this is their description:
Use on the face to apply, blend or contour powder products. Softly rounded dome tip delivers just enough colour; smoothly blends colour into the face. Of natural fibres.

Pros:
*Very dense head
*Soft bristles
*PERFECT for contouring at the cheekbones and temples
*Works well for blending cream items such as blushes
*Overall fabulous brush!!

Cons:
*The only con I could think of was price, but it's definitely worth it as it is SO much better than the brushes     I've used for contouring before!

Julep Maven January Box

                                                   In my January Julep Maven box, I got:

*2 nail polish remover cloths

                                            *2 nail polishes- Maria (the top shade) and Anne (bottom shade)
                                            *A bonus polish- Nail therapy

                                                       *And pomegranate body scrub

                        The body scrub is amazing! It is really thick and sugary, and smells AMAZING!

My Cheap DIY Vanity Makeover!

This is how my vanity has looked for quite a while now! (Hides face in embarrassment) It had gotten to the point that I couldn't efficiently do my makeup in the mornings because I couldn't find anything!

So after looking around at different blogs and Pinterest, I found a cool cheap DIY way to organize everything!

                                                                           I got:
                                              *2 small containers from Michaels for $1 each

                                                  *A paper tray from Target's dollar section

                                                    *Some little glass beads from Michaels

                                                         *And some printed duct tape!

  And then I just wrapped the containers with the duct tape print that I wanted them to be! I know Hello Kitty and houndstooth don't really go together that well, but who doesn't love a little Hello Kitty in the mix???

                                                      And this was how it looked after!

                           All of my most often used items I put in the tray and lids of the containers

       And my favorite brushes I store in the containers and use the glass beads to keep them standing up

                                     And then all of my favorite palettes are just stacked in the corner!

I'm currently working on organizing the rest of my makeup and beauty items and will do a post on that when I am finished!
